About BTN
Borders Talking Newspaper is a charity based in Duns with a second group working in Hawick.
We record items from The Southern Reporter, Berwickshire News and Hawick News each week in our studios.
Our digital recordings are sent free on data sticks to visually impaired or blind listeners and streamed worldwide over the internet. We make a small charge to cover postage for listeners who cannot read for other reasons.
Listeners are loaned machines to play the recordings. The players are designed to be easily used by people with visual impairment or reduced sensitivity in their fingers.
If you would like to be added to our mailing list, do contact us by email, telephone or letter (please see contacts page).
We depend on the generosity of our supporters to keep the service going and volunteers to keep producing the recordings (please see our donations and volunteering pages for more information).
