The Aims and Objectives of Peebles Civic Society
1. To encourage interest in the past, present and future of Peebles.
2. To encourage the preservation, improvement and development of amenity in and around Peebles.
3. To encourage high standards of architecture and planning in accordance with item2.
4. To promote wide public participation in the formulation of planning decisions.
5. To pursue these ends by means of any or all of the following methods:-
Meetings, Exhibitions, Lectures, Publications, Representation to Local Authorities, etc.
Publications
The Society publishes an Annual Report in November each year to coincide with the Annual General Meeting.
A Programme of the Public Meetings is published on a membership card which is issued to all members and the meetings are advertised in the local press.
The Society arranges three Public Meetings (November, February and March) to focus attention on current issues and matters of public interest.
The Society arranges an annual photographic competition to find a “Postcard for Peebles”. The winning entry is printed for sale in local shops.

The second open public will be a presentation by Gaby Laing, Heritage Officer with Scottish Civic Trust and has been resheduled for Tuesday 28 February 2017 at 7.30pm in St Andrew's Leckie Church Hall.
