The mild weather this spring had brought forward the pruning of the roses at St Dunstans by the students of Borders College.
Each year the students get training in rose pruning and rose bed preparation as part of their course at the college and then get practical experience under supervision on the yellow roses in front of the Trading Standards building in Melrose which Melrose in Bloom have responsibility for. This is such a great help to us as it is quite a big job - and we are delighted that the students get some benefit from undertaking this task for us.

Many hands make light work with a job of this size!
