Welcome
Melrose in Bloom is a group of enthusiastic volunteers undertaking projects to make Melrose a more beautiful place - from hanging baskets and planters through the summer season, to more sustainable planting for year round interest. We work in collaboration with other local organisations such as the Borders Horticultural College, Melrose Primary School and a local playgroup as well as the Criminal Justice Team.
We always need more volunteers as we are taking on more and more work that was previously done by Scottish Borders Council and this is a trend that is likely to continue with the budget cuts to local authorities continuing to bite into non-essential services. So, if you can spare some time to help, please get in touch. It does not matter how little time you can spare, we can find something for you to do!

2016 is the 50th anniversary of Beautiful Scotland and we have been invited to enter as previous winners of the Best Large Village category in 2011. This will mean all of us putting in extra efforts and your help is needed more than ever. Thanks to the support of the local community we will be investing over £6,500 this year in our floral displays and they will all need watering, feeding and weeding over the summer season.

Scottish Borders Council have marked our Gold Award in the 2012 RHS Britain in Bloom competition with two road signs at each entrance to the town. The picture shows some of our Melrose in Bloom members at the unveiling of the sign in Waverley Road.
