Well, autumn is on its way. I wonder if we will snowed in for the third year in a row this winter?
Eddleston is a delightful conservation village in the soft rolling Borders countryside, only four miles from the county town of Peebles and eighteen miles south of Edinburgh. We are well situated for both city and local shopping, tourist and leisure activities. Eddleston is made up of the village itself plus quite a number of surrounding farms. In 2001 (the latest census data available) there were 129 households with a total population of 335 split 47% male and 53% female. I wonder what changes we will see in the 2011 figures.
This is our community website developed thanks to the generosity of Awards for All, Scottish Borders Council and OnLine Borders. Please have a look around for more information
We have excellent local facilities including the primary school, church and village hall. There is a thriving local community with clubs and activities for all ages from pre-school to senior citizens. More details in our Clubs and Activities section
We will be noting upcoming events on the website so if you have an event you would like to publicise, just let us know
We also have an excellent village newsletter previously run by Seonaidh Morton and hopefully being taken over by Kirsty Peebles - see attachment below for last one in June 2010.
WE WOULD LIKE YOUR HELP
Do you have any local news or information about the village which you would like to share? Do you have any interesting photos of the village? Would you like to see your house or garden on our home page or in the photo album? Maybe it's there already. Why don't you have a look? You can contact us via our contact page.
...........brings you up to date in its own section. All the latest news and information and how to contact your Community Councillors. Three long serving members retired at our AGM in June and three new members were elected along with a new co-opted Minutes Secretary. All are welcome to attend
