Congratulations to............................

............Sir Ian Wilmut

......who was knighted in 2008 for his pioneering work in the science of stem cell technology.  While at the Roslin Institute, Ian led the team who created the first cloned mammal, Dolly the Sheep - now on show at the Museum of Scotland in Chambers Street Edinburgh.  Ian is the Director of the Scottish Centre for Regenerative Medicine and a long time resident of the village.  He is also chairman of the Community Council 

.............and to Katie McIvor

19 year old harpist from Eddleston, Katie participated in the clarsach competition at the 2009 Mod for the first time, coming first in both the classes in which she competed.  She won the Elspeth A Hyllsted Trophy for Senior Advanced Playing of two solo pieces and the Margaret Balfour Trophy for an original composition reflecting the idiom of Gaelic music

.............not forgetting Kirsty Rides Again

Kirsty Loudon who raised  £2,813 by taking part in the Women for Women Cycle Jordan event in October 2009.  Fundraising events included midsummer ceilidh and concert in the Village Hall, sponsored 10K run and  tennis coaching
