Goings on in Eddleston

The Scot's Pine Restaurant

The Scots Pine Restaurant is on the north side of Eddleston, just before entering the village. It has a welcoming log fire and lovely home baking and cooking. You can buy the home bakes to take away. Just the ticket to pass quality time with family or friends, at a reasonable cost

The Barony Castle

Now owned by de Vere Venues, Barony Castle holds an imposing position on the hill to the west side of the village. The original driveway is lined with lime trees and the wildlife within the grounds is quite amazing, changing with the seasons.

The Barony Castle can be used for weddings and conferences, or you can just pop in for coffee. There are plenty of walks for everyone, in some amazing scenery, but you do need to be fit enough to get up the hill!

Elibank Park

Elibank Park lies behind the old village. Quiet and secluded, it offers an attractive space for family picnics and other outdoor activities. The park has a variety of wildlife, from buzzards, heron and woodpeckers, to fish and frogs. The white elder tree at the entrance of the part is beautiful when in bloom. There is a small play area for younger children

Horseshoe Inn

The landmark Horseshoe Inn is well known to all who live in and pass through Eddleston Village. The beige painted building with its attractively lit windows offers good food and drink to regulars and visitors alike. It has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and the couch in front of the fire is comfy for a quiet chat with friends. Taken over by new owners in late 2005, and already winning awards, the Horseshoe has ambitions to be a real gourmet restaurant in the lovely Borders countryside.
