Welcome

Traquair Village Hall is suitable for private functions, meetings,  stage productions, dances and seminars.  The village lies two miles south of Innerleithen in Peeblesshire and according to the last census comprises 79 houses and just under 200 people.  Although it is small it is well known because of Traquair House, which is said to be the oldest continuously inhabited house in Scotland.  The committee of Traquair Village Hall depends mainly on the income from the hiring of the hall to meet the running and maintenance costs but because of the small local population it needs the support of the wider community.  The purpose of this website, therefore, is to market the facilities the hall can offer.

The majority of the bookings is for private functions but the hall is also used for public functions.  Obviously, the private events are not published on the website.  If you are thinking of booking the hall for a private event you may want to start by looking at the 'Facilities' page but if you been to the hall you can go straight to the 'Booking Details' page where you will find the Terms and Conditions, Hiring Charges and Booking Procedure.

If, on the other hand, you are interested in joining the regular events you will find all the information under that heading in the navigation menu.

The hall is situated on the Southern Upland Way as it comes into Traquair from Minch Moor.  You may have passed by while out walking and wondered about the history of the hall so, again, that is in the Navigation menu.

Lastly, you may prefer to get straight to the point and contact someone or you may require further information.  That is not a problem.  Just click on 'Contact Details' and use the telephone number or send an e-mail.  Either way, you will receive a welcoming and helpful response.
