Peebles Gutterbluids Society - 2010 Christmas Nativity Scene Tableau
Members of Peebles Gutterbluids Society erected their annual Christmas Nativity tableau on the steps of Peebles Old Parish Church just before Christmas 2010, after some modifications necessary due to changes to one of the Church entrances. Following some refurbishment by the Society's volunteer members, and with two new recently arrived young lambs in place for the occasion, the Nativity Scene was in place until Wednesday 29 December 2010. Despite the very wintry weather, over the period, the tableau survived and brought pleasure plus a sense of the season with the meaning of Christmas to many who passed by, and paused to view the scene. On dismantling the tableau and storing the sections until next year, members also took the opportunity to remove some figures for refurbishment over the succeeding months, in readiness for December 2011. Peebles Gutterbluids Society hopes that members of the public, young or not so young, whether locals or visitors, enjoyed our display, - as that is what makes our voluntary work worthwhile.
