Reshaping Care for The Elderly
The Bridge was commissioned by Scottish Borders Council, Social Work Department to carry out research from December 2011 – February 2012, to identify existing networks, relevant voluntary community organisations and self help groups for the elderly. The report will outline what is already happening in the Cheviot (including Coldstream, Greenlaw and Gordon) and Tweeddale areas and potential opportunities for development. It will summarise the type of support and skills required to develop services within the Third Sector to meet expressed need and fill any gaps in provision within the Cheviot Plus and Tweeddale localities.
Empowering Communities a Scottish Government Consultation
The Scottish Government has a clear purpose to create a more successful country, with opportunities for all of Scotland to flourish, through increasing sustainable economic growth, and it is determined to work in partnership across Scottish society to deliver on that purpose.
The Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act was passed in July 2015 and the various parts are being enacted by further Regulations. The latest legislation relates to Asset Transfer, which came into force on 23rd January 2017. You can read our response to the original consultation below, and also the Summary Guide to Asset Transfer.
