For those interested in Patchwork and Quilting in Selkirk and the Scottish Borders

Welcome to Souter Quilters

Souter Quilters formed in September 2001 to provide an opportunity for those interested in patchwork and quilting to meet with others who share the same enthusiasm.

Anyone, beginners or experts, who are interested in patchwork, quilting and applique are welcome.

We meet at 7pm on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at the Argus Centre Goslawdales Selkirk TD7 4EP (adjacent to the High School). The meetings are always lively, sharing news about the world of quilting.

One meeting each month is given to speakers on various subjects allied to patchwork and quilting or a demonstration on a new technique.  The other meeting is a ‘sewing evening’ where help with individual projects is available.  Show and tell is a regular highlight of these sewing nights.

Workshops are arranged and held on a Saturday.

We also have a quarterly newsletter to keep us up to date on what is happening locally and nationally.

Our members support the Linus project which provides quilts/comfort blankets for traumatised children (www.projectlinusuk.org.uk)  and also the newly founded ‘Quilts of Valour’ which provides quilts for British service members touched by war. (www.qovf.org).

Every two years an exhibition of members work is held. The next one is in 2018.

If you are interested do come along and visit us before deciding whether you would like to join.  The guest charge is £3 per meeting and the annual subscription is currently £20.

To arrange a visit please contact Cathy Coutts on 01750 21632
