Jedburgh Community Trust is a charity working to preserve the built and natural heritage of the ancient Royal Burgh of Jedburgh.
We aim to save and renovate local heritage buildings and make them available for community use, or to support the economic development of the town.
To date, we have purchased two properties - the first was used by the local youth group from 2003 but is now the new home of the Jed Shed, a local community group providing a venue with woodworking equipment to share, activities and friendship.
Our main project is the Port House, purchased in 2010 with support from the Scottish Government's Town Centre Regeneration Fund. This Category A listed building is sadly on the buildings at risk register, and we are working hard to bring it back to its former glory. Built in 1900 as a Co-operative Society department store, there is also a large warehouse/granary building with single storey units to the rear and the whole provides over 8000 square feet of space.
Further information on the Trust's projects are contained in the About Us pages.
