This afternoon Wednesday 26th September 2012. The Eddleston Water reached a record high at SEPA's March Street monitoring station. A level of 1.17meters was recorded. The recording station was erected in 2005 and the previous highest water level of 1.046 was recorded on 5th April 2010 at 8.15pm.
SBC, headed up by Jason Hedley the Local Neighbourhood Area Manager, were out in force on the Cuddy and the Town even had a vist from Cameron Buttle from BBC Scotland.
There was a definite air of concern around the area as people watched the ever increasing water levels and some poor car owners looked particularly troubled as they watched the water seep into their vehicles.
This is the third time this year that the area has been flooded and we have not reached the winter yet.
