The "Cuddy" is the name of a stretch of the Eddleston Water which flows through Peebles to it's confluence at the River Tweed.
The name "Cuddy" comes from the Tanning industry which was situated on parts of the Eddleston Water.
Beside the "Cuddy" there are areas of wilderness and then the Water makes its way through the town.
