Cuddy Action Group

Who are the Cuddy Action Group?

We are a group of local people who love wildlife and Peebles.

We are best known in Peebles for the Cuddy Clean Ups. However there is a lot more to us than that. We have some exciting projects plans.

These include:-

• The Cuddy BioBlitz (25th & 26th May) will be a two day event involving school children and members of the public to record the wildlife and nature that can be found in and around the Cuddy. This will be an exciting event giving you the chance to learn from the  experts who will be present.
• The Memory Bank Project aims to record the stories of the Cuddy in the days of the mills and the railways before those memories are lost forever.
• Through the Conservation Projects we aim to make the Cuddy more accessible for environmental education and link it to other pathways within the town.

We also monitor new development along the banks of the Cuddy to ensure that  wildlife and the natural beauty of Peebles is not adversely effected.

Although we have been caring for this area for the last 10 years we are only following on in the footsteps of the Callants and Gutterbluids who carried out clean ups to keep the area looking good for Beltane.
