
Bowden Village Committee and Trustees of Bowden Common are undertaking a full restoration of the iconic Pant Well, a key feature of the village landscape. This restoration project will commence in Spring 2011, and fundraising activities are underway.

The Committee are pleased to say that three funding applications have been made:
Heritage Lottery Fund, ENTRUST Landfill Tax fund and Scottish Borders Community Grant Scheme.
These three funding applications will cover the total cost of the restoration project.

Scottish Borders Council have awarded the Pant Well - Past, Present and Future project £5000 as match funding for the project.

Bowden Village Committee announce.................
Bowden Village committee are delighted to announce that the Pant Well Project is now ready to proceed!!
The Heritage Lottery has provided the core funding (£36,500) for the project and further match funding has been secured from Scottish Borders Council’s Community Grant Scheme (£5000) and the Landfill Community Fund (£15000) administered by BCCF Environmental/ENTRUST. Further contribution from Bowden Village Committee’s own funding has resulted in the project being fully resourced and able to commence. Work is expected to commence in April 2012 with the first phase of the restoration work, followed by a summer of different community activities relating to the project.
