The Borders Interactive Gathering, the BIG Event, is a focal point of Adult Learners Week, celebrating the national Learning at Work Day. In 2012 it will be held on 17th May in Hawick Town Hall from 11.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.
The Event is both a resource and a celebration of learning in the Borders, in its very widest sense.
The title describes the Big Event - Borders Interactive Gathering
Borders: it is Borders wide bringing in organisations from all over the Borders—and reaching out to other venues by the two-way link.
Interactive: the participants interact with public, whether it be by workshops or activities or discussion—, e.g. New Age curling in the Volunteer Hall!!—a real experience.
Gathering: a meeting place for all adults interested in learning something new, be it a leisure pursuit, how to use the computer, make the most of library services or support someone with, for example autism. And, from the outreach two-way contact—learning what is going on all over the Borders.
