Walkerburn Rugby Football Club was founded in 1884 in the small village of Walkerburn in the heart of the Scottish Borders. We play in the East 3 League and have a small playing squad (everyone gets a game). The club at Caberston Haugh, sits on the side of the river Tweed and many kicks into touch end up floating down the river in the direction of Clovenfords! As you drive through Walkerburn on the A72 (10 miles from Galashiels and 8 miles from Peebles) you will see the park and club house by the waterside. As you might expect, our proximity to the river can lead to the occasional flooded pitch. Scottish weather can also result in a little fall of snow. Although small, Walkerburn RFC is big in heart and huge in terms of hospitality.
In May we hold a celebration of Borders rugby with an annual Sevens tournament.
Walkerburn Sevens 2015 will be held on Saturday 23rd May more details see http://onlineborders.org.uk/community/wrfc/walkerburn-sevens-2015
