Welcome to the Earlston Paths Group - Community Path Group of The Year 2015
Work is continuing to improve the Millbank route near Earlston, but it will not be complete for some time. The path remains open but please take care when walking there and obey any signs in place.
The successful Earlston Paths Group was formed in 2005 with a broad aim to develop & maintain a sustainable and accessible path network around the Earlston and Redpath areas.
We also care for and maintain paths that we've created all year round.
We began by developing some smaller local routes and then in 2010 the longer Leader Water Path was designed and built to provide a beautiful off - road walking experience between Earlston and the River Tweed. The path also allows walkers easy access to towns like Melrose and links routes including The St Cuthberts and 4 Abbeys Ways plus more local footpaths.
In 2011, we wrote, designed and published Country Walks around Earlston and Redpath. The Group's contribution to the community was also recognised when we were awarded the Citizens of the Year accolade by local residents in the same year.
In 2013 we opened our most challenging route, the Diamond Jubilee Path, which has proved to be both a very popular linear and circular route for walkers to and from Earlston to the Leaderfoot bridges.
