Earlston and Redpath Paths Group

Welcome to the Earlston Paths Group

The successful Earlston Paths Group was formed in 2005 with a broad aim to develop and maintain a sustainable accessible path network around the Earlston and Redpath areas. Crucially, we also physically care and maintain all of the paths that we've created all year round.

In 2010, after developing our shorter walks, we created the longer Leader Water Path which provides a beautiful off - road walking experience between Earlston and the River Tweed at the Leaderfoot bridges. The path also allows walkers easy access to towns like Melrose and links us to routes including The St Cuthberts and 4 Abbeys Ways plus more local footpaths.

In 2011, we wrote, designed and published Country Walks around Earlston and Redpath. The Group's contribution to the community was also recognised when we were awarded the Citizens of the Year accolade by local residents.

In 2013, after many difficulties and funding disappointments, we will open the Diamond Jubilee Path, creating a circular route for walkers to and from Earlston to Leaderfoot. You can follow on progress on this web site and Twitter at @Earlstonpaths.
