Child Protection Training Group

The Scottish Borders child protection multi-agency training sub group is responsible for ascertaining local training needs, ensuring that appropriate training is provided and taking a strategic overview of multi-agency training to promote effective practice in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Child Protection Training Courses include:-

Level 1 - Raising Awareness Training

Free course open to anyone who works with or comes into contact with children or parents as part of their work, voluntary or leisure activities.

Level 2- Multi-agency Training

Open to staff in Education, Health, Police, and Social Work who may be involved in investigation of allegations of abuse and participation in Case Conferences. Staff attending this course must have attended Level 1 Awareness Raising Training

* NEW* Level 1 Refresher - Raising Awareness Training

Open to staff who have undertaken Level 1 child protection training in the last 4 years. The training is a refresher / follow-up to Level 1 and the aim is to update the awareness

of participants to issues of child protection. This training is free.
