The Eckford Grace was written by Sheila Campbell for the first ever Will Ogilvie event at Eckford Village Hall. It is intended that this poem can be adapted to suit many dining occasions in and around Eckford.
ECKFORD GRACE
Oo’r here at Eckford’s hairt tae dine
On sumptuous food wi’ finest wine
Let’s thenk the Lord and gie him praise
For Wudden Hill and The Loanin’ braes
For freends and neebours whae gie their care
For music and stories oo’r gaun tae share
For fine local cheeses and prime Borders meat
Glory be tae God – that oo’r able tae eat
