The Youth Offending Service works with young people aged 8-17 who have committed an offence or who are at risk of reoffending. The service aims to support young people to address their offending behaviour and offers alternatives to offending by helping young people to break the cycle. It works closely with the Children's Hearing System, Lothian & Borders Police and the Children's Reporter. More information is available from your local Social Work office (details can be found on the Scottish Borders Council website or from the Social Work Services entry in this Directory).
