The Ability Centre is a purpose built facility which provides day support services to adults with a physical disability. Adults with a sensory impairment or head injury will also be considered. The aim of the service is to promote ability over disability by enabling people to gain the confidence to develop new skills and interests while socialising with other people with disabilities. The Centre has accessible toilet facilities, a large lounge and a newly refurbished kitchen. There is a conservatory and garden with raised beds. It has a number of shared areas with the Focus Community Centre and there is a Community Cafe run by both centres. The Ability Centre is run by a management group which is a partnership between users of the Centre and the Social Work Services Department.
