The Wilton Centre is a specialist education centre which aims to support children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties who are having difficulty accessing full-time mainstream education. It opened in 1996 as a joint venture between Social Work Services and Lifelong Learning. The provision works across the Borders and provides linkwork for children in their mainstream schools, outreach and social and educational opportunities on a day placement basis. Referrals to the Wilton Provision are usually received through the Social Work Services Department or schools. Contact details for your local Social Work office can be found on the Scottish Borders Council website or from the Social Work Services entry in this Directory.
