The Trust was set up in 1990 to honour the memory of James McLean, first Director of Education (1975-1990)who died in office. Its objectives are to promote all the activities of an Educational Authority, such as Jas. McLean fostered during his Directorship. The Trustees are largely former colleagues, and meet regularly in St. Boswells to push the business on.
Activities; In particular, an annual celebration of sport in the form of a dinner at which awards are given for excellence in sport, taking into account awards already given by the District Sports Council, and in cooperation with SBC, installation of nominees to the Borders Sporting Hall of Fame. The awarding of grants from a very small Trust.
