A box full of objects.

A jar with strips of paper with emotions written on them.

Nelly The Elephant by Moira Holmes

Nellie the elephant was running down a hill when suddenly he fell over. He was very embarrassed. He had hurt his foot on a door stop that was lying hidden in the grass.

“Who put that there?” he muttered.
He heard a shout. There was a lady running across to him.
She was wearing a big blue hat. She shouted at him,
“You silly elephant! You have landed on my door stop.”
“Never mind your door stop,” said Nellie.
“You will have to move yourself,” said the lady.
“I can’t!” said Nellie, “My foot hurts too much.”
By this time there was quite a crowd gathered to see what was going on. Nellie was trying to stand up, but it was proving very difficult. The lady in her silly blue hat was still shouting at him. Finally Nellie managed to stand up. The crowd cheered.
“Well done Nellie!”
The lady in the blue hat got her door stop back.
“It’s all twisted” she moaned to Nellie.
“Well so is my toe!” said Nellie.
