Thursday 28th July, 2011
The water challenge on Wednesday 27th July 2011 was open to all ages and set individually by each person who wanted to take part. Some swimming for a specific length of time while others set themselves a target of so many lengths. The event turned out a success. The furthest swim was 100 lengths of the pool being 2.5km done by Fiona McDonald.
The water challenge was followed by our annual strawberry tea. As always there was such a lovely spread - including quiches, sandwiches, vol-au-vents followed by strawberry merringues, strawberry cream sponges, strawberries & icecream. Everyone loves our strawberry teas. We would like to thank everybody for their generous contributions of food, drink & raffle prizes.
It is anticipated that overall sponorship monies once collected will exceed £400. Funds raised will be put towards purchasing t-shirts & fleeces embroidered with 'the Dippers' logo to help raise awareness of the group.
